Charles “Chuck” M. Shaffer was named Chairman of the Board in February 2022, and appointed President and Chief Executive Officer and a director of the Company and the Bank in January 2021.
Previously, Mr. Shaffer served as the Company’s Chief Operating Officer since May 2019. He also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from January 2017 to May 2019. Before that, he led the Community Banking Group since October 2013 and served as Senior Vice President and Controller of the Bank from 2005 to 2013.
Mr. Shaffer is actively involved in the community. He serves on the board of United Way of Martin County, most recently as Campaign Chair. He also serves on the board of directors of Armellini Express Lines, a private logistics company headquartered in Palm City, Florida, and on the boards of the Florida Bankers Association and the Mid-Size Bank Coalition of America.
Mr. Shaffer holds a master’s of business administration (M.B.A.) with a finance specialization from the University of Central Florida, a bachelor of science in finance from Florida State University, and a bachelor of arts in accounting from Florida Atlantic University. He is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. He is also a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of Florida.
